Wait, say again?
State Senators Tommy Williams and Bob Deuell have put in a budget proposal that would remove funds from going to Planned Parenthood in order to divert that money to organizations that provide more comprehensive care for women.

Many reasons why this is a good idea: Planned Parenthood is a non-profit that receives more than 40 million from the State of Texas, yet somehow ends up with a profit at the end of the year. Planned Parenthood has a problem with allowing minors to obtain abortions without notifying law enforcement in obvious cases of statutory rape.

Planned Parenthood is also the largest provider of abortions nationwide and worldwide, which makes the quote from the Planned Parenthood of North Texas Communications Director, Holly Morgan, all the more interesting. She says, "If they don't want people to get abortions, they should be helping us, not hurting us."

So in other words, in order to reduce the numbers of abortions, we need to increase the amount of money going to the organization that does the most number of abortions.

Clearly I see how this will help.

Praying for Life in McKinney
Melaine Gutierrez is leading up an effort in McKinney, Texas to shut down a newly-opened Planned Parenthood Express Clinic. Here is today's report. You can find more information on the vigil blog or web site.

Thank you to all of our prayer warriors - those who came to be a public witness and those who were praying from home and work today!

We had many small victories today.

- A young woman drove by the PPE and it was obvious to several of the volunteers that she wanted to go into the PPE. However she looked at the 12 Christians who were standing and praying in front of the PPE and she drove in a circle then drove away.

- 2 other young women came into the PPE and we were able to give me information when they left the PPE, and told them that we would be praying for them. Please pray for them : their names are Carissa and Laureno

- The Planned Parenthood Express hired a security guard when they saw us there - this is a victory because this is an expense for them. Remember - they are a business with a bottom line. If they aren't making money they will close and go away!!!! The same security seemed sympathetic to us. He was friendly, smiled, and I am pretty sure I saw him mouthing the words to the rosary as some of our volunteers prayed out loud!!!!

- Mr. Jim's pizza is owned by a Christian couple who agreed not to handout any PPE material. They are prolife and said if we need anything to mention that we are with the group of people praying to close the PPE and they will give us a discount.

- The Donut shop is owned by a prolife Christian as well! We have a huge communication barrier - if anyone can help us with this please let us know.

- The McKinney newspaper interviewed both Carol and myself - so maybe that will help us raise awareness that there is a group of Christ's faithful who are committed to shutting down this PPE.

- We had 12 Christians from 4 different churches who came today to pray as a united Body of Christ.

- The prayer vigil participants now have the support of EVERY store/vendor in the strip center with the exception of the Custom bath & countertop store. We have not been able to visit with the storeowner yet. I will keep trying.

- We need a Korean speaking translator to talk to the Donut shop ownero We need to get every hour that is open for business covered by a prayer warrior.

Final thoughts:

Matthew 18:20 For wherever two or three are gathered in My name, there I AM in the midst of them. Today, we gathered, as Christ's faithful. Today, we prayed both together and separately. Today, Christ saw that although we have different ways of worshipping Him, and different ways of praying, we also have common ground. We are united in our belief that Christ alone is our Lord and Savior. We are united in our belief that Christ does not wish for innocent unborn babies to be aborted. We are united in Christian love for each other. Today, we know that at least two young women were given educational materials, and they know we are praying for them.

While we were driving away from the PPE today we saw a man and a woman enter the shop. Historically, when a man and woman enter together they are seeking information about abortion. We were unable to deliver Christ's message to that couple today. Though they are nameless to us, Christ knows who they are - please lift them up in your prayers!

Today several people who had never been to a Planned Parenthood put aside their own fears and reservations to follow Christ into battle. Make no mistake - this is a battle. We have to be firmly rooted in Christ's love to keep our hands on his plow. Luke 9:62 Jesus said to him, No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back [to the things behind] is fit for the kingdom of God. Though our enemy may be larger than us as individuals, we are capable, if it is Christ's will, of winning this battle! Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said, With men this is impossible, but all things are possible with God.

REMEMBER:We have a meeting Thursday June 5th at St Michael Catholic Church in McKinney @ 7 PM

Invite someone!!!

P.S. If any of you have time on your hands before the vigil officially starts and wants to go to the clinic during business hours we can try to coordinate and try to make sure no one goes alone - just call me or email me and give as much notice as possible.

God Bless

The Strange Meaning of a Meaningless Word
Jeff Turner is a Dallas lawyer and a fellow in constitutional law at the College of St. Thomas More in Fort Worth.

Sometimes the irony pierces so straight and true that one feels no pain, just wonder and astonishment that there is still breath. Planned Parenthood of North Texas (PPNT) announced (www.ppnt.org) that James T. Roderick, its very own president/CEO, will receive the organization’s “prestigious” 2007 Gertrude Shelburne Humanitarian of the Year Award.

PPNT does not define “humanitarian” for us, but, like the great English writer, Gilbert K. Chesterton, I will “use the word in the ordinary sense, as meaning one who upholds the claims of all creatures against those of humanity.” I might add, against those of common sense.

PPNT is a regional subsidiary of Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), founded in 1921 by Margaret Sanger. The first ironic arrow to hit is this: After happily preaching her birth control gospel to such enlightened and open-minded folks as the women’s auxiliaries of the Ku Klux Klan, she climbed to the mountaintop to consult the humanitarian gods. There, hemorrhaging with unbelief (she was an atheist), she touched the swastika of Ernst Rudin, and his power went out to her. She went away to enthusiastically publish in her Birth Control Review his “Eugenic Sterilization: An Urgent Need.” Herr Rudin founded the Nazi Society of Racial Hygiene and was a close friend of the One whom Sanger must have believed was the Zeus of humanitarianism, der Furhrer himself. PPFA and PPNT have never refuted or disavowed this history of their organization and now PPNT has the impudence to give a “humanitarian” award to its own furhrer of 25 years.

The next ironic arrow to hit: PPFA and PPNT both claim to be wholesome, law-abiding citizens, ever vigilant of women’s rights. But has either the parent or its North Texas subsidiary condemned or disciplined Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region for violating that state’s laws designed to protect young women? 16-year-old Denise Fairbanks told clinic staffers that the man who had brought her there for an abortion was the same man who impregnated her. The sickening irony was that that man was her father. She also told staffers that he had been forcing himself on her (i.e. denying her freedom of choice) for five years. Staffers, upholding the finest tradition of Planned Parenthood’s compassionate care, duly proceeded with the “procedure” and, without bothering to notify the police, released her into her father’s/perpetrator’s hands with a hope-to-see-you-soon supply of The Pill.

Link to http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2007/may/07051504.html for similar Planned Parenthood cover-up in Los Angeles.

Another arrow of irony is PPFA’s and PPNT’s status as nonprofit, charitable organizations. Nonprofits by definition aren’t supposed to earn a profit from a business enterprise; to do so would violate the tax laws. Cleverly, PPFA instead reports “excess of revenues over expenses.” For fiscal year 2005-2006, that “excess” was $55.8 million. Total assets at the end of the year came to $839.8 million. Of the $902.8 million in revenues, corporate welfare accounted for 34%, or $305.3 million in taxpayers’ money.

What’s PPFA’s and PPNT’s business anyway? Are you ready? Their business is to kill tiny, defenseless humans (some 264,943 in its latest fiscal year) and promote sexual impurity among our sons and daughter and nieces and nephews.

See http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2007/jun/07060811.html

Congratulations, Mr. Roderick. If you’re a humanitarian, Blessed Mother Teresa must have been the devil’s daughter.

Sex Book for Children
American Life League releases video report on children's sex book

WASHINGTON, D.C. · November 19, 2007 / PRNewswire / – "Parents need to know what Planned Parenthood has in store for their children and this report is an excellent starting point," said Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League. "The book 'It's Perfectly Normal' is obscene and offensive to Christians."

American Life League's second video report exposes the contents of the book "It's Perfectly Normal." Recently, a Washington State Prison rejected a fundraising letter that included censored images from the book for being "sexually explicit" and "obscene."

American Life League released the report as a part of its continuing effort to educate the public on Planned Parenthood's activities.

"This video report is just the beginning," said Sedlak. "We will continue to use this new media to expose the nation's largest abortion chain and we call on Christians across the nation to join us in putting a stop to tax payer funds for Planned Parenthood."

40 Days for Life Journal Entries

We welcome those who come to pray with us to share their experience in our journal at the vigil site. Below are a few entries:

10/06/07 It was most heartening to see so many prayers (120) united for the defense of the unborn. With this effort there is great hope that God will intervene and bring our country back to its God given ideals.

10/05/07 Proverbs 1:20-25 Destiny

10/02/07 Man came by to talk about how he had asked his wife to abort their first child. He came to tears as he expressed his sorrow for his way of thinking and thanked God his wife did not go through with it. His wife passed away when the child was young and he had to raise the child my himself. He remembers the joy of raising his little girl and feels blessed to have watched her grow up. She is now 24 years old and is about to graduate from college!

10/02/07 7:10 pm The sun is setting and my time here on this noisy street is coming to an end...I wonder as I watch the cars going by if these people have any idea what is going on only a few feet away in that horrible black building...I pray that the Holy Spirit will fill their hearts and change this world! Thanks to all who stayed with me today...you all are special angels! Tom

9/27/07 I consider it an honor and a privilege to "stand in the gap" for the unborn child! Mary Ann

9/27/07 Beautiful Morning! God graced us with a perfect day for the beginning of the end to legalized abortion in this nation. the prayers of my wife and I join with all those participating in 40 Days for Life! May they rise as a fragrant offering to Our Lord! Amen!

Required viewing
Planned Parenthood in Aurora, IL has lied to city planners about the abortion mill they are building which has resulted in a huge amount of outrage amongst the citizens of the town.

Below is the story that Sean Hannity did on the controversy. This should be required viewing for everyone.

Jill Stanek is following the story closely with a new article put up today.

This, my friends, is Irony
Is it possible that a more advanced case of irony exists than that a group that calls itself "Save the Children" is a supporter of Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the world?

I don't see how.

The Next Step Continued
Every week we see evidence that it will only be a matter of time before those who love abortion and all of its accouterments will be going door to door in your community, demanding to speak to your children without your presence and giving them information about how to obtain abortions and contraception without your permission.

We last saw health officials in New York City handing out city-made condoms at NYC subway stations and other areas of high pedestrian traffic.

Now we see Planned Parenthood has instituted a "Pill Patrol" in an effort to encourage their supporters to visit local health pharmacies in cognito and see what kind of resistance they get in trying to purchase Plan B, the so called "Emergency Contraception."

If they can purchase the Plan B Pill, then all is good with the pharmacy and they receive good marks from Planned Parenthood.

But watch out if you have a religiously based objection to providing Plan B to someone who comes into your pharmacy. As a part of their campaign to encourage (mandate) pharmacies to carry Plan B, Planned Parenthood now wants to set policy for pharmacies nationwide, and they don't want people with religious convictions involved, as we see from the below excerpt of their "policy":

2. Refusals: Pharmacy chains should institute a policy and set of procedures that ensure that - even in the event that an employee has a genuinely held religious belief against dispensing or distributing contraception — the pharmacy will ensure that customers receive valid, lawful, medically appropriate contraception in-store (on location), without discrimination or delay (e.g., within the normal timeframe for distributing an OTC product or filling a walk-in prescription, as appropriate) and without judgment or regard for the number of refills prescribed.
Yes, if you have religious based beliefs on contraception and abortion that prevent these things from taking place, then you are the bad guy and are "harming" women's health. They don't say what specifically should happen to the offending religious believer but I am sure they would love to see them fired or disciplined, as has already happened in the past.

And what is truly outrageous is that all of this flies in the face of a recent study done by a prestigious medical journal, The Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, that said, among other things that, "increased access to emergency contraception pills enhance use but has not been shown to reduce unintended pregnancy rates." It also said that "no study has shown that increased access to this method reduces unintended pregnancy or abortion rates on a population level” and that “the consistency of their primary findings is hard to ignore."

And yet they are ignored. As so now they have gone from subway stations to local pharmacies. The march to your house is getting closer and closer.
